I'm trying to stay sane in 2020 by keeping busy, but there's one thing I won't be busy with any longer: social media. I've deleted both my Twitter and Facebook accounts. I feel very good about this. I won't offer any reasons for this decision; the fact that we're expected to justify any absence from social media is itself symptomatic of the problem. Anyway, if you'd like to reach me, please do so at email@example.com. I'll be happy to hear from you!
What will I be using all that extra time and brainspace for? Completing my next two books! In 2021, Saga Press will be publishing my second novel REPEATER, which is an urban fantasy set in the '90s punk scene. Also next year, Melville House will be publishing my memoir EXTRATERRESTRIAL SUMMER, which is about growing up poor and geeky in the '80s. They'll be distributed by Simon & Schuster and Penguin Random House, respectively, so expect to see them everywhere!
I hope everyone is keeping their head above water. Take care, and I'll post more news as it develops. In the meantime, keep an eye out for my regular book reviews for NPR and whatever sundry other articles I may write here and there. I'll be enjoying my hopefully permanent vacation from social media and keeping it weird here in Denver.
